Deadly fog and "invisibility"
Sable Island is located on the east coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, and looks like an ordinary island. So why do ships run aground and sink on this island so often?
The dense fog rolling over the sea is one of the important reasons. According to records, the island has clear weather only in July in a year, and the island is often hidden in fog at other times, which is related to its location. Not far from Sable Island, the Labrador Current and the Gulf Stream meet, and the two currents have different densities, so instead of peacefully merging with each other, they collide.
