Life should be like the wind

I recently read a poem and read this verse in a book of poems: Life is a bit like a gust of wind. Although we can't see the wind, we can feel the moment when the wind blows. Life should be like the wind.

Reading this verse reminds me of Thoreau, an American writer, philosopher, and representative of Transcendentalism. Thoreau lived on the shore of Walden Lake for two years and two months. This experience has become a permanent intellectual landscape in the United States. Therefore, he is known as the creator of natural essays. His essays are concise and powerful, simple and natural, and full of thought. He is unique among American prose in the 19th century. And "Walden Lake" is recognized as the most popular non-fiction work in American literature.

For this great writer living by the lake, today we cannot understand it as a model of passive avoidance. It is he who discovered the real bond between human society and nature and made it a solid support for his own social life. Thoreau once said: "Every life, like every gust of wind, is always'recording itself." In order for Feng to record himself at all times, he can measure the distance with his footsteps, which is more accurate than others using a ruler. He said that he used his feet to find a path in the woods at night, rather than his eyes. He was able to estimate the height of two trees with his eyes. It was very accurate. He was able to estimate the weight of a cow or a pig like a livestock dealer. There are many scattered pencils in a box, and he can quickly grab the pencils one by one with his hands, every time he grabs exactly a dozen.

He is also good at swimming, running, skating, and rowing. He can probably surpass any villager in long-distance walks from morning to night. And the relationship between his body and spirit is more subtle than we imagined. He said that every step his legs took was what he wanted to take. Because he firmly believes that life is like every gust of wind, he lives in a cabin on the shore of Lake Walden, placing all his actions on an ideal basis. In his book "The Biography of Thoreau", the biographer Robert D. Richardson outlines Thoreau’s thought process and growth experience by combing through Thoreau’s large number of personal diaries and writing manuscripts. In the environment, he comprehensively examines the spiritual trajectory of his life. He believes that he has never been lazy or willful. When he needs money, he is willing to do some physical work similar to his temperament to make money.

For example, he can build a boat or a fence, plant, graft, measure, or other short-term work. He has the habit of enduring hardships and hard work, has few needs in life, is proficient in forest knowledge, and is very good at arithmetic. He can make a living in any part of the world. He can provide his needs with less effort than others. So he can guarantee free time to write, meditate, and imagine himself like a gust of wind.

From his thoughts and actions, we can also read Thoreau’s little-known emotional life, some poems obscured by the fame of "Walden Lake", and even feel that Thoreau can be seen in his personal journal and excerpted notes. Luo's unique personal charm. Richardson, a biographer who had lived in Thoreau’s hometown of Concord, once wrote: "The biography begins with the mystery of temperament, and lives in the narrative, but the purpose is to transcend it and achieve'resurrection." He believes that reading And to understand Thoreau is to rediscover the wildness and freedom in his heart.

That’s why Thoreau said: "Every life, like every gust of wind, is'recording itself." This is just as Thoreau said in a book written by him, his life experience It is more realistic. Individuals continue to think about the self-analysis and thoughts in his essence, and see his imperfections and an extraordinary mind through words and small flowers. In fact, each of us is a dust in the mortal world, living in the present, living what we want to be. Therefore, we should put aside the shackles of the world and remind ourselves that just like every gust of wind, the wind will blow across the wilderness, and it will give birth to various forms. In this scene, everything is infinitely possible.
